Meet Jeremy

Meet Jeremy Bolen.

Born and raised on the Iron Range in Northern Minnesota, Jeremy learned at an early age the values of hard work, giving a helping hand to neighbors, responsibility, community relationships, integrity and leadership.

Jeremy attended school at Mesabi East High School in Aurora Minnesota, active in athletics - supporting the many high school sports as the Assistant Athletic Director while still attending high school. These foundational experiences led Jeremy to pursue a Law Enforcement degree through Hibbing Community College. While attending college Jeremy worked special event details for Gilbert, Biwabik and Hoyt Lakes Police Departments.

After graduating from Hibbing Community College with his Law Enforcement Degree, Jeremy moved to the Twin Cities area, living in Saint Paul. Jeremy’s first role in the Twin Cities area was at the Minnesota State Capitol serving as a Capitol Officer for the Minnesota State Patrol. After serving at the State Capitol, Jeremy advanced his experience and transitioned to the Department of Military Affairs as a Security Officer for the Army Aviation Support Facility.

In 2004, during his tenure with the Department of Military Affairs, an opportunity with the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office opened to serve in a volunteer capacity as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff, serving hundreds of volunteer hours each year in communities throughout Ramsey County.

In 2007, Jeremy became a licensed police officer in the State of Minnesota and was hired as a Deputy Sheriff with the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office. Since 2007, Jeremy has continually advanced his expertise and experience serving in various units/divisions such as Warrant Division, Water Patrol, Real Time Information Center, Adult Detention Center, Regions Hospital Holding Unit, Juvenile and Family Justice Center, and Patrol Divisions.

In 2012, Jeremy was promoted to Acting Sergeant overseeing operations at the Juvenile and Family Justice Center. From there, he served as a Sergeant at Patrol and Water Patrol.

In 2023, Jeremy was promoted to Acting Commander, leading Water Patrol Operations and Community Support Services & Administrative Support in the Patrol Division. Currently having served the residents of Ramsey County for over 21 years.
